Nordic Youth Chess Championship

Welcome to the Nordic Youth Championship 2019, hosted by the Icelandic Chess Federation.
Location and accommodation
The tournament and the accommodation will take place in Hotel Borgarnes (www.hotelborgarnes.is)
Borgarnes is located in the west coast of Iceland – 77 kilometres distance from Reykjavik. The distance from Keflavik airport is 116 km or about 1 ½ hour drive.
Travel
We recommend rental cars. Fastest, easiest and cheapest. Easy roads to drive between Keflavik airport and Borgarnes. We are able to arrange mini buses for teams if wanted. Please let us know with at leasts week notice.

The schedule is subject to change if necessary. The final schedule will be published after the registration deadline.
Tournament rules
Six rounds using the Swiss system. Each player gets 90 minutes with a 30 seconds increment for every move. The tournament is divided into five age groups, from A to E, with a maximum of two players per country in each group.
Class A: For players turning 18, 19 or 20 years 2019.
Class B: For players turning 16 or 17 years 2019.
Class C: For players turning 14 or 15 years 2019.
Class D: For players turning 12 or 13 years 2019
Class E: For players turning 11 (or younger) years 2019.
Costs
The Icelandic Chess Federation covers accommodation and food for two players in each group and one team leader from each country – 2 triple rooms, 2 double rooms, 1 single room.
The cost for accompanying persons – full board:
Four persons room – pr. person Ikr. 35.900.-
Triple rooms – pr. person Ikr. 39.900.-
Double rooms – pr. person Ikr. 44.900.-
Single room Ikr. 57.900.-
Accompanying persons have to pay their national federation, which in return will be invoiced by the organizer.
