Players and a delegations have arrived in Borgarnes, Iceland, to fight it out on the chessboard for the Nordic Championship. During the next three days, players will battle wits on the 64 squares. The battles will take place in a town forever tied with the story of Egill Skallagrimsson, the poet Viking.
The playing hall at Hotel Borgarnes is ready. The five groups are all on live boards and will be broadcast on lichess. See here.

The captain’s meeting was held on Thursday night. Some things to keep in mind are:
- Time control is 90+30 NO added time on move 40!
- No talking by players during games
- No eating food AT the table
- No restrictions on draw offers
- Parents who stay in the area between the playing hall and toilets CAN NOT analyze games on Lichess
- Parents or accompanying persons can enter the playing hall during THE FIRST 10 MINUTES ONLY! After that, only the head of delegation is allowed in the playing hall
- Players playing very long games stretching beyond advertised kitchen hours will still be able to get lunch/dinner at Hotel Borgarnes

Good luck to everybody!
