On the Friday evening, a blitz tournament was held and titled „Borgarnes Blitz“. The tournament was open to players, trainers and parents and 7 FIDE rated 3+2 blitz game were played.
After a nice battle, Norwegian FM Nicolai Maxime Ostensen showed the biggest class and finished the tournament unbeaten with 6 points out of 7. Nicolai received a new DGT clock as did Aku Salonen who had the best tiebreak of those players on 5 points out of 7.
The next few places got book prizes as well
